3 years?

Has it really been three years since the last time I saw you? Three years since you taught Tiphany and I that god-forsaken Britney Spears dance. Nearly three years since "Bloodflowers" was screaming out of Chuck's stereo and the new, raw pain of losing you was screaming inside of each and every one of us.

At the Cure concert last month, they played "Bloodflowers." Tiphany looked at me. Held her hand above her head and snapped her fingers. Crossed her arm. Took a step. And I burst out laughing. With tears in my eyes.

We remember you. Your light. Your laugh. The way that you could make anyone who knew you feel special. Days when I feel too lethargic to move, I remember you. And how you were so passionate about never sitting still. Always progressing, the entire time I knew you. And now you're gone, and you've been gone for longer now than the amount of time that we were friends. And I've run out of stories to tell. But we all remember you.

...Has it really been three years? Hey Sara. I know you hate cats. But maybe if you're somewhere nice, it's a place where there are no allergies, yeah? Hug my kitty for me, if you could. I miss him. And I miss you. And I'll keep dancing badly to good music while refusing to sit still - if for no other reason than to seize the moment.

Thank you for teaching me that.

Love, Colleen
