I met Sara in my Tower Records days. When I worked there in the summer of 99, Sara would always be around, visiting Chuck and Zane. We chatted every so often, and I saw her occasionally after I worked at Tower. The last two times I saw her were at the Bruce Campbell book signing, and then at the Tool show at the Paramount. Sara told me about her condition that night. I remember seeing hope in her eyes. It seemed as though she knew the ultimate outcome of what could happen to her, but never let it dampen or dull a moment in her life. Because it was on such a spontaneous basis that I ever saw her, I can only remember certain, but very particular things about her. Every time I saw her, it was like someone turned a light switch on, and the room was filled with the most luminescent sense of kindness and beauty you could ever feel. Her smile could make you skip a heartbeat, and her aura graced your presence like you were just given the best news of your life. Sara left me with nothing but good memories of the wonderful person she was. I know wherever she is, the people around her are smiling.
