This morning at about 6:15am PST I found out that a friend of mine, made through LJ passed on December 21st. Sarabear was a cancer patient, she was 21 years old and was going through various therapy at the Fred Hutch center, if I remember correctly. I didn't know when I first read Colleen’s e-mail if I had known her well enough to cry. Evidentially I did, about 5 min later I was in tears. I would like to think that she had learned whatever lesson she needed from this life and has passed us all by to forge a new way. The other part of me thinks this is really fucking unfair, 21 and dies of cancer. It's not fair, then again who said life was fair? Sara was so mature for her age, so vibrant and full of life. She didn't crawl into a hole and hide due to her condition. She was courageous till the end no doubt. I still remember coming across her last journal post and thinking My god, how is she doing this, she's got tubes sticking out of her, and procedures that hurt like hell!?! Yet she still smiled, she still fought. Oh Sara, I wonder if you were someone who was sent to teach us the lesson...hmm... I feel the tears start to threaten my composure here. I wish you well Sarabear, the universe keep you safe, and your strength see you through.
