In October of 2000 I got some very bad news from my girlfriend. Nothing fatal, but definitely life altering.( I won’t go into details as it would just distract from the story.) Anyways, I hadn't talked to Sara in a while so I called her up to see how she was but mainly because I needed a friend to comfort me and tell me everything would be all right. That was when I found out about Sara's leukemia. I felt so guilty. Here I was coming to her with my problems when she had way more important stuff to deal with. But it did not seem to bother Sara. She gave me some advice, consoled me, and did in fact tell me everything would be all right. That was the kind of person Sara was. No matter how much she had to deal with in her own life, she always had time for friends. Her emails were light-hearted and always made me life. I don't know where she found the strength. She was the most selfless and courageous person I have ever met. Now whenever I think that life is getting too hard and I can not handle it, I try to think of Sara. Her love carries on in the lives she has touched, and for that her spirit shall never die.
